FOOD!

Although I would love to try all the foodie spots that there are in Melbourne, eating out every night would only hurt my wallet. So of course, I must go grocery shopping!

In Melbourne there are basically 4 places to go for groceries: Coles, Woolworths, the Queen Victoria Market and ALDI – in that order from most expensive to cheapest. Of course, because I’m not from around here I went to the most expensive one, but only because it was right down the street from my flat (apartment).

I have come to the conclusion that everything in Melbourne is definitely more expensive in comparison to the U.S. – Fruit, water, milk, and meat. Out of chicken, beef, and lamb the cheapest was actually kangaroo!

Getting groceries for the week is an adventure on its own and the prices are making me for sure miss home! Even though it was the cheapest, I am still too nervous to try kangaroo, but it is definitely on my Australia bucket list! When I do finally try it for the first time, I’ll be sure to let you all know how it goes!!

Cheers,

Brenda
